The main aim of this course is to provide useful information available in the net about some ICT resources that can support the English teaching practice at a Primary level.

Objectives

  • To promote the use of the ICT in the classroom.
  • To inform about the possibilities that the internet offer to the English teaching practice.
  • To know some ICT resources suitable for teaching and learning English.
  • To explore the didactic possibilities of these resources, searching for new ones and analizing their value within the framework of the English language classroom.
  • To state some of the acquired concepts explicitly in a curricular project.

Structure

The course lasts 45 hours. It is divided into 6 modules, that contain practices, and a personal project. It is estimated to devote 6 hours to each module and 9 hours to do the project. There are the following modules:

  • M1: Once upon a time…(Stories)
  • M2: Let’s have fun! (Songs & games)
  • M3: Approaching other subjects
  • M4: Portals & webs of reference
  • M5: All you need is …(Resources)
  • M6: Update your English

To do the course it is necessary to have a general knowledge as well as basic skills on Windows environment. That means to know how to create a folder, copy files, cut and paste, install a programme, surf the net, send e-mails, etc. Throughout the practices, you may access the mòdul de suport, that link up to related topics on basic computer tools. You only have to clic on the Mòdul de suport icon.

Tutor

Each participant will be assigned to a tutor who will guide him/her through the course. The participants may ask questions through the e-learning platform, as well as ask for advice or suggestions to carry out the tasks. The tutor will monitor the participants’ progress based on the exercises sent.
